Twin Latex Balloon Kit
Overhead aerial photography with balloon recovery system
From the TecnoFly 2008 experience the Twin Latex Balloon Kit was born, a
modified version of the Balloon Photo System. It is a kit for aerial photography
using a latex balloon coated with a lightweight jacket of rip-stop nylon.
The coating, consisting of twelve spherical sectors, is elastic and adheres
perfectly to the internal latex balloon ensuring a greater resistance to shock
and sun exposure. The addition of the outer wrapping in rip-stop nylon slightly
reduces the available lift of the balloon, which lends itself well to aerial
photos with compact cameras from 200 grams to about one kilogram for the version
with 180 cm in diameter.
The external wrapping of the latex, made from spinnaker nylon with elastic
polyurethane resin, considerably reduces the deterioration of the internal latex
balloon, which is made with 100% biodegradable natural latex. In summary, while
in the Balloon Photo System the aerostatic unit is carried out only by a latex
balloon (150 or 180 cm in diameter), in the "Twin Latex" the latex balloon has a
protective jacket. The benefits are numerous and all very important:
- increased mechanical protection to the latex balloon
- UV protection (harmful to latex as they are responsible of the intrinsic molecular alteration)
- the durability of the latex balloon, in terms of flights, increases significantly, with economizing costs
- in case of breakage of the inner chamber, the outer casing does not allow the helium gas to escape rapidly,
but the gas remains inside for several minutes, sufficient for the photographic operator to retrieve the ball
without risk of damage to the system. All this is possible because the outer layer is made with heavy seams and
with considerable tension of the thread, that allow the helium gas to remain trapped within ensuring a lift
useful to gradual reduction of the intensity.
Twin Latex Balloon Kit is available in several colors and is sold in a robust
carrying case. It is made entirely by TecnoFly 2008 and is available in three
versions, Twin Latex Balloon Kit 150 (with ball 150 cm in diameter),
Twin Latex Balloon Kit 180 (with ball 180 cm in diameter), and Twin Latex
Balloon Kit 180 HP High performance with spoiler flaps. TecnoFly 2008 is engaged
in the search for optimal solutions to photographic applications experimenting
with different solutions that are molded around the needs of many operators of
aerial photography, such as in archeology, where the Twin Latex Balloon Kit has
ideal application.
