Lifter - Kites for lifting loads
TecnoFly 2008 presents its new range of LIFTER, special kites designed to be the
best "lifter" to which entrust heavy loads. During test phase we found peculiar
differences between the type of kite "SLED KITE" and the "LIFTER". While a Sled
Kite presents flexible fiberglass rods, the Lifter is simply stitched fabric,
without any internal "armor" as support. A Lifter is very light, has a greater
number of lines that converge to the carabiner of the lines. The Lifter is
applied in contexts with weak wind (recommended for winds from 0.5 to 4 knots,
Bft scale). The main feature of a Lifter is its exceptional stability at high
altitude, we want to stress this point because, being a structure with air
inflated wing profile, the flight stability is certainly assured if there is
still a laminar air flow (fluid thread), while, despite having a great lift
even at low wind speeds, this model near the ground, especially during take-off,
could stall, running into irregular closure of the "wings". The launch phase or
takeoff of a Lifter is delicate and needs attention. Care must be taken not to
tangle the lines, once stretched the fabric against the wind, you must stretch
the kite's wings in front of the wind to make them swell, like a glider. In essence,
the wind blowing and maintaining these bags, allows the fabric to take the form
of a particular asymmetrical biconvex profile of a wing, which returns lift
at high altitude and is stable enough to remain fixed in the sky as if it were a
solid station. Very suitable for lifting cameras and camcorders with stabilizer.
