How it works

The principle of operation of the kite is simple, it is a kite, therefore it is necessary have some wind to fly it. The takeoff phase is the most delicate, but it is simple. The kite used in the Kap Kit is a Power Sled 24, an intermediate size that allows you to make kap sessions with compact cameras, and therefore with a weight of 300/500 grams, or with digital reflex cameras with a weight of about 1000 grams. It begins with pulling the kite out of his bag, which plays a function of protection during transport, and can be used also as a stabilizer windsock tail. The kite is made of sturdy spinnaker nylon, stitched to perfection and made semi-rigid by solid fiberglass rods whose elasticity allows the kite to be easily bent in two, without any danger of breaking. The small footprint once inserted into the bag, makes it very practical and versatile. To launch your Power Sled 24 kite there must be just a few knots of wind. Having a wingspan of 242 cm and a chord of 113, the structure becomes immediately lifting. As we know, at ground level and up to a height of about 10 meters, the air flow lapping the ground undergoes changes in direction, generating the so-called aerodynamic turbulence that leads to some instability of the kite during takeoff. The wind becomes laminar, that is not turbulent, a few meters from the ground, beyond which the kite will stabilize, pointing to the wind, and tend to go up to the maximum point of vertical ascent. Obviously, the takeoff happens upwind, this process is easier with two people, but with a little practice it can be done even alone. The main purpose is to stabilize the kite in flight, when you release the reel with the cord the kite tends to go away, and the cord becomes bland and not taut, then we must stop with the release and let the wind make up the kite with the help of small pulls. When the kite flying has stabilized at around 30/40 meters from the vertical and around 70 meters length of cord, the Picavet with the camera is applied. All that remains to do is to release the rope and up the camera. Kap sessions are great fun and stimulate young people and adults to a rediscovery of places and different viewing perspectives. Fantasy and application complete the whole. Contact us for a quote, we are at your disposal. No fear ... Fly Tecnofly !
