About Aerial Photography
Taking photos of lands and buildings from above needs of course the right
equipment, like an airplane or an elicopter, but taking photos from a height
between 20 and 100 meters is more difficult than from a greater height.
This fact makes blimp aerial photography a valuable and unique service.
You may have found us in this website because you were either interested in
starting an aerial photography business, or already have an aerial photo
business using a helicopter or fixed wing aircraft and find those methods too
expensive and dangerous.
In every area, including aerial photography, security is important, especially
in terms of liability. TecnoFly 2008 Srl is careful in proposing solutions for
aerial photography that are safe for the operator and can not cause damage to
third parties.
Aerial photography is a growing business worldwide. You have certainly seen some
videos created by fans or professionals that use balloons or airships or
remote-controlled drones to reach that point of view that only the birds are
allowed to have.
People have always tried to imagine being able to fly and observe the earth from
the sky. Now you can !
As with any business, the business of Aerial Photography presents opportunities
and risks.
We believe there is ample opportunity to make money in offering aerial photography
services.
We design and sell equipment for aerial photography that is used worldwide.
If it were a matter of just having the right equipment, your success would be
guaranteed. Of course, it is not just about the equipment, there are other
factors which will determine your success. These factors should be part of your
business plan: how much you charge for services, how you go about marketing your
services, how you manage your scheduled book of jobs, and of course how well you
control costs. If you approach this as a business, and concentrate on certain
market segments that are under-served, you will have a great business.
Balloon, blimp or kite ?
There are several systems that can be used to lift a camera in flight, TecnoFly
2008 suggests the systems that exploit the aerostatic buoyancy of a gas
lighter than air (blimps) and those that use the force of the wind (kites).
The latter give rise to that type of activity called Kite Aerial Photography.
Very often our clients have questions about the gas used for filling the
balloons... Is it dangerous ? Is it flammable ? And many other questions. We
start immediately with reassure everyone that TecnoFly 2008 Srl develops only
systems that are safe and not dangerous, this is our principle. The helium
gas is not flammable and perfectly suited for balloons. TecnoFly 2008 only uses
helium gas to fill balloons and airships. Helium is the same gas used to inflate
the balloons for parties of your children. For this you can rest assured that
any type of flammable gas is NOT used to inflate our balloons.
Many people ask us: blimp or balloon ? Balloon or kite for aerial photography ?
It depends on several things. Each system has some features that make it more or
less versatile. It is important to know first the type of photography that is being sought, whether
high quality or lower, if you want to use a Camera Mount radio-controlled video
transmission, or if you just want to get shots from zenit position.
As for costs, we have solutions that span from simple and low cost to
professional.
What types of balloons we sell ?
TecnoFly 2008 balloons offer is focused two main categories: the spherical balls
(Camera Balls) and the wonderful airships for aerial photography (Camera Blimps).
These balloons and airships are made of pure polyurethane 100 microns thick
(0.1 mm), which is the optimum thickness for the film of polyurethane.
There are many sizes of balloons and airships, the size is different according
to the payload that is chosen to raise.
Why the polyurethane ?
Many customers ask why the choice for polyurethane in the field of aerostatics.
The answer is simple: low specific weight, high capacity to retain helium,
elasticity and durability make this material exceptionally good for the
aerostatics field.
Some manufacturers choose PVC balls and some customers confuse the polyurethane
(PU) with the PVC, but these are two very different materials.
PVC is not good for the construction of aerostatic balloons, it is heavy,
it has a little elasticity, it cures at low and high temperatures and above all
it doesn't retain well the helium gas.
Instead the polyurethane is very light, elastic, durable and retains in an
excellent way the gas inside.
Another important factor which makes the polyurethane material excellent is the
ease of welding, that allows also to repair it easily. You will not believe it,
but a hole in a ball in polyurethane is repaired with just a piece of packing
tape.
Are there any low cost systems to start ?
Certainly. We are attentive to the development of both professional and
beginners. Our Ballon Photo System Kit and
Twin Latex Balloon Kit are the right
answer for a beginner who looks out into the field of aerial photography with
balloons.
To familiarize yourself with KAP (Kite Aerial Photograpy) we offer a kit called
KAP Kit, an all-inclusive kit that comprises
kite, reel and anchor system. TecnoFly 2008 recommends that you take the
fascinating journey of aerial photography in small steps, because the amount of
knowledge to assimilate may initially be discouraging. We have much experience
in this field, you can write us an email to submit all questions that require
answers, we will be more than happy to answer them to help you achieve the best
aerial photos.
